Navigating the Weekend

All the nitty gritty to help make your trip smooth

Breakfast

Breakfasts

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8 am to 10 am

We want you to be well fed and to be able to relax when you come to Oaxaca. Everyday, you'll be able to start your morning by enjoying a continental breakfast at Quinta Real. Take your voucher to the dining area at Quinta Real, and enjoy! Vouchers are worth $350 pesos- if you go over it, you'll be able to add a credit card to the bill to cover the difference.

Lunches

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 1 pm to 3 pm

You also have three vouchers available for your use that are redeemable at each of the following locations:

Capuche

(Miguel Hidalgo 1017, 68000 Oaxaca, Mexico)

Expendio Tradición

(Reforma, Murguía &, Centro, 68000 Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax., Mexico)

Quinta Real

Vouchers are good for $500 pesos, and as with breakfast, anything spent beyond that would require a credit card. Both locations (that are not Quinta Real) are less than a 10 minute walk away and would be a great way to explore the city!

"In Oaxaca, calendas are celebratory processions that happen on saints’ days, major holidays, weddings, baptisms, graduations, pretty much all kinds of major events in people’s personal and communal lives. It’s basically a walking party, an opportunity to celebrate in public." - Our First Calenda

The Calenda precedes the ceremony immediately. Everyone, except Trisha, will meet up and dance our way from Quinta Real to the ceremony location- Proyecto Murguia- to meet Trisha and start the ceremony! This is not a far distance, roughly a block away. You do not need to bring separate clothes for this event; dress as you would for the ceremony. Please note the following: the road between Quinta Real and Proyecto Murguia is cobblestone, so it would be worth considering comfortable shoes if you anticipate dancing hard!
